Thanks to all with your nice comments from my last posting. I still have not received the pictures from the fair, but as soon as i get them, ill show you some, promise.
I am going to be very very buisy now, i have orders for 4 dresses. This makes me so happy because i always long to make a dress.
The first outfit i am going to make is for Sofie (who has my red dress) She deserves a new outfit, and i want to use the fabrics from my stash, so here is what i came up with for Sofie:

A bodice and skirt. The bodice is made from an original garment in the Galliera Museum. It is going to be very difficult to reconstrukt it, but its a challenge for me.
The second dress i am going to make, wil be for a girl who is a servant for the countesse, and i want to recreate the painting of the famous Chokolate Girl by Liotard. She is going to have a grey skirt and a black caraco jacket, white apron and pink cap.
As for the last 2 dresses, ill tell you later..............

My trunk is packed to the limmit, and i remembered my camera this time, Ill promise you a lot of pictures from Gammel Estrup and the marked.
Oh and by the way, i finnished the jacket, and i have taken it into the trunk. Yahoooooooooo.

Had almost given up hope, i had ordered 2 new wigs last week, and i had hoped they would come today. Then at evening, i thoaght tomorrow.
Suddenly the door rang at 9 o clock in the evening of all times, with a postman and my wigs.
Its my day off tomorrow, and i had planned to style these wigs, and now i can.........
Yahooooooooooo. One is for me, the other is for Sophies father who plays the Count.

This is what i wrote last night. Today i have ben very buisy styling wigs. I can see that i need to go and buy some black ribbons, i think those i have are either two narrow or two wide.
Anyway the counts wig is baking in the oven now, and it was somehow difficult with the new wigs, they are all flat in the hair, so very stiff. Hard to roll, but i am crossing my fingers the oven treatment will help. I have made the Counts wig a little more simple with only 1 curl in each side, and then i have curled the tail softly. His wig is all white, and fits better to a count.

Today i had the day off, extra weekend at my job next weekend. But i had a meeting with the lady from Øregård Museum, and she was very very impressed by my work. So it seems that i have a new regency dress to make in the future.
Øregård was build by a french architect, a big Villa italian style, in 1800.
My suit gets along, i have carefully marked the side pleats, and i am going to make the lining now. I can see now that i only get the jacket done. Mostly because i got an extra job before the marked next wekend, they asked me to make a wig for the Count, and i couldnt resist. So i must go and hunt for a wig tomorrow. I am a yes person, never can say no.........
But i dont want to let the jacket behind, i can wear it with other waistcoat and breeches, this is not a problem. This is one of the advantages, when you make all your suits in green shades. I only have green ones.........

My new dress form waited for me when i came home outside the door. It was a nice surprice.
I rushed to dress it with the jacket i am making now and here is a picture of it.
It is only pinned together everywhere, so there is long way to go........
Thankyou soo much to Robinia_Acacia for taking the troubble and please me with this new male dress form, i am sure ill have a lot of joy with it. Its about 3 cm bigger than me over the chest, so it sits a little tight, the jacket, but i think i can live with that.
Back to coffe and sewing and also Bachs Goldberg variations wich i just baught, played on cemballo with Lars Ulrik Mortensen...........

Had to do my duty and go voting today. For the parliament in Europe. Also to vote if the throne is to be followed by order of sex, that a boy should be heir to the throne or if it is a girl she is going to enharrite it. I voted yes, that i think it should be possible for a girl to enharrite the throne. I am a royalist and i am proud that Denmark is a kingdom.
We have the most wonderfull queen now, and she is doing her job splendidly!
Then i have assembled all my suit now, cut off the last lace and attached it to the back vent, made a nice pleating in the top where it stops and goes down again.
Although it is placed on my female dresstand, i am very pleased with the shape it has, it is very accurate in the fashion.
So i am going to sew it together, it is only pinned together now. Off cause it also has to be lined with silk, but this is easy............
Hope i can make the waistcoat in time.............

I have sewed both pockets and i have made the pocket flaps, now i need to sew on the pocket flaps, and i can sew on the buttons under the flaps. Also i can sew on the buttons on the cuffs and sleaves.
I have interlined the two back parts and when i have sewed them together, i can make the back vent with the silver lace. Seems that the jacket is soon finnished...........

Wonderfull lunch at my sister yesterday, today the weather has grown windy and more chilly. Later they promise rain.
I have send a parcel away to the young lady who took care of buying me a second hand male dressform. She deserves it, as it was a little unpraktical to hand when sending to me.
I cant waite to see it and it is going to be great to have.
The justeaucorps i make now is my 4th suit from later part of 18th century, and i still have one more wich i have to finnish, the one with the embroidery. I only embroidered the left front side. So 5 suits of later period must be enough. From now on its more mid century ones i am going to make, the ones with the full cirkle sides and larger cuffs and deeper waistcoats.
In manny ways its easier to make gentlemens garments, because you can use the same cut to them, and make different embellishments on. Its only the embellishment who does the variety.
Have to go to work tomorrow, and friday i only work til 12, then its weekend! I have promised to buy lunch at Bakken on sunday, if the weather holds..............
I made 2 compleated sleaves today with interlinning and attached cufs. Then i am going to make the pocket holes on the front jackets. Oh and by the way. I desided that i want to make a beautifull frame of silver lace for the pocket flaps. Now that i am at it, and i have suits to wear for the 1700 fair, i am in no rush to finnish it, and it would be so beautifull with a nice pocket frame of silver lace................

Do some of you remember the rich silk brokade, and i meen real silk brokade wich is the same as was used for a film about Catherine the Great with Zeta Jones?
I have 3 yards of it, and its wide, so i got this wonderfull idea to make a pannier skirt out of it. Then i am going to make a caraco jacket in a rich royal blue ribbed silk i have, i put the fabrics together today, and it looks great together.
This i want to make out of it! The Caraco is more like a fully boned corset covered with silk fabric, and it has a stomacher inserted in the front, but it is laced center back. The sleaves are tied on with bows and the sleaves has pleated winged cuffs.
Oh i am soo happy that i finally found out what to do with it.
Got my suits back from the cleaners, they are like new ones again, thanks to the wonderfull cleaner man, he is so clever with his job.
As for the work with my justeaucorps, i found out that its not possible to embellish the pocket flap with lace, the flap is two curvy for this, so ill just leave it plain. This meens that i have finnished all lace for the jacket. I am assembling the sleaves right now, the cuffs are lined with a grey silk, wich doesnt show.

Leif and i had a wonderfull day today in the countryside at my sisters house. We had a lovely lunch and enjoyed the garden. Weather was fantastic.

I was on work today, so i didnt make much, but i only have 3 more buttons to make, 26 buttons in all for the justeaucorps. This time i use Boothdrapers bone button molds, these are completely flat as i like them. Its some that he didnt have when i made my last justeaucorps.
One of the cuffs is compleated with the silver lace, the other one needs to get the silver lace sewed on.
Today i also received 6 pairs of shoes for my asian ball jointed doll from Court and Castle.
They are going to be used, when i get time to make more doll clothes. I also had a fan for it.
Tomorrow i will make more lace.
Next week i have all days off my job except for thursday, but monday i am going to my sister for lunch, tuesday i have to pick up my suits from the cleaners and also to visit Camilla Louise Dahl from dragtjournalen.dk I am going to make her a ribbon corset, and she has a lot of fabrics she wants me to have, so i am excited to see them.
I also have to go to the haircutter to get a haircut next week, so i hope, inspite of all the things i have to do, that i can get on with my work. Its very exciting to see when my male dress form is going to be here......... cant waite!

Thanks a million to: http://robinia-acacia.livejournal.com/ who was so gennerous to offer that she would buy a second hand male dress form and send me.
She was at a sale and found one with my chest meassure wich is very very nice. I have missed such a one so tremendously much. She is sending saturday, so maybe i am lucky it is going to get here at the end of next week.
Then i can post you some much nicer pictures when i make things for myself, when i can put them on a dress form. One of these days i shall go shopping and try to find some very nice things for you in return. I saved a lot of money on this, because you could get me a second hand one.............
I have now enough lace for the two cuffs and the back vents, so just to make some lace for the pocket flaps, then i can start to sew the jacket together.........

After work today i went to the flower market and baught pelargoniums for my balcony. Then i had to tidy up from last year in the flower boxes and took away the remains of the last years flowers. I baught 12 pelargoniums and they are now planted and looks so nice from the kitchen window. After the coffe, i started to make more lace, and i have now taken a break to write a little here, and to prepare dinner. We are just having leftover today wich fried eggs.
Tomorrow is my day off, but i am expecting a visit from the lady who makes the danish costume journal, dragt.dk. She is comming to disguss about a dress i am going to make for her, a rococo dress. I am very excited about it, also because she has a very fine figure to model on, and she wants me to make a very tight laced corset for her, 18th century.
Besides this, then i am going to the cleaners with one of my old costumes, the silver spangled one, because the lady from Øregård Museum wants to see some of my work before she desides weather i am making the costumes for the museum or not. It needs a cleaning, and i want it to look at its best, when she is going to see it.
Also i have wondering about making myself a new wig, If you know the book Dangerous Liasions from the exhibition with costumes, i have fallen in love with the long curly, grey wig the elder gentleman is wearing on one of the last pages, he is turning his back towards the wiever, studying a piece of furniture, while his wife is flirting with a young man.
It shouldnt be that difficult to make, from a longhaired grey wig, ill just roll it and bake it in the oven!
Oh and i am still considering to buy myself a male dress form, i got a note from the state today that i can take out some of my pension, and i have a lot of money to use, but i want to think a little more about it before i make up my mind, it costs about 10.000 danish kr. wich is a lot of money to me.
Now back to dinner preparing............

I have sewed on the silver lace to the two front pieces now. The back vents needs 85 centimeter of silver lace, wich i have except 5 cm. so there is light in the end of the tunnel, i can make it with silver lace for the jacket. The cuffs and also the pocket flaps needs lace in the edge. Now i want to spend the rest of the day making lace. Its going to be very nice i think, i like the collour two.

There was very little leftover. I baught the last lot of the silk taffeta, but if i piece together when i make the kneebands and use as much as i can, the buttons needs covering two, i have to line the cuffs with a different silk taffeta, but it wont show, also the breeches linning has to be lined with a different one.
Hope i get to finnish it before the 1700 fair.............
