Tambour work [May. 28th, 2010|05:03 pm]

I have ben desperate, very desperate with my tambour work. I cant use my chinese silk threads for this because the threads are untwisted, and my tambour hook catches the fillaments in the silk. Therefore i had to deside to use cotton thread in stead. I am very sorry about this, but i have not the time to order home twisted silk threads, ill have to use the cotton threads wich are available everywhere.
Also it has taken me quite a lot of praktising in the tambour work, to get the right twist and turn to the working procces, but suddently i had learned, and now its so easy for me:-)
For manny years i had tryed to do it, but it seemed that i was not patience enough, this time, because i had to learn it, i did.

This is just a small motif, the pattern is taken from Inspirations issue 55 wich has a projekt with tambour work.
Now i have learned, i cant help thinking about all the wonderfull things i can do with it, for instance for neckerchiefs made in white cotton voille, sleave ruffles, neck ruffles and the like...................
Now i have a holliday from today, and on wednesday i travel to Portugal for 10 days wich is wonderfull.
I dont give a damn about the lousy weather here in Denmark, Portugal is hopefully warmer and sunnyer!
